Hi!
This is a joint blog where we channel our endless enthusiasm and energy towards music and entertainment.
All of us are still schooling, and this is just about the only way to keep our sanity. :D
Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, hence disagreements are not uncommon. :) We will blog about what we like, and
about what we find amusing. :D
This looks pretty promising!! :D An added incentive to watch this drama would be Kim Bum, and of course I'm also looking forward to seeing Son Dambi and her acting :D
The drama seems interesting, and I hope it really is! According to DramaWiki, it will start airing on the 27th July (next Monday) and will have a total of 16 episodes.
The first-ever Korean drama Triple revolving around figure skating and featuring Lee Jung Jae, Lee Sun Gyun, Yoon Kye Sang, Min Hyo Rin and Lee Ha Na among it's cast begun filming last month. The drama which will be aired on 11th June through MBC after Cinderella Man also begun filming for the first time at the Gangneung International Ice Rink recently. All the main cast were present including Park So Hyun, making a cameo appearance as a coach.
Despite flowers blooming outside the ice rink, it was unbearably cold inside for everyone involved. The cold chilling feeling would really sink in after 5 minutes and many production staff have developed colds after filming for long hours inside the ice rink.
Min Hyo Rin's performance on the ice rink was highly anticipated as she had practised vigorously for her role in the past year, putting in at least 10 hours and above of practise daily without fail. In a nutshell, Min Hyo Rin plays a high school student named Haru who has tremendous potential in becoming a top figure skater. After donning her ice skates, Min Hyo Rin's impressive showing on the ice ring won her applause from everyone watching her. Director Lee Yoon Jung personally came up to Min Hyo Rin and praised her for the hard work that she had put in for her role which led to Hyo Rin tearing.
Triple reunites director Lee Yoon Jung and screenwriter Lee Jung Ah, having both previously worked together on the hit MBC drama series Coffee Shop 1st Prince. The drama is widely anticipated to be a hit with Korean viewers, seeing how popular figure skating is in Korea right now thanks to Kim Yuna who became world champion at the recent 2009 World Figure Skating Championships and setting a new world record in the process. Although one might suggest that it is trying to cash in on the Kim Yuna momentum, one must take note that the drama had been mooted almost a year ago.
Oooh! So exciting, I like themed shows about sports (something like that) a lot!! :D Can't wait for this drama hahahahahaha
I'm posting up this article because dramas of this genre are one of my favourites ♥ ♥ And also because I think Min Hyo Rin is so awesome, she's managing to master something so well without having any background experience before. I want to be like her! HARD WORK, ALL THE WAY!!
Oh my god I nearly forgot that the MV was coming out today!!!!!
I remember telling myself/reminding myself after reading many posts on Soompi about the MV coming out today. :\ Anyway I'm typing in the dark now - I can't see my keyboard lol.
I haven't got time to watch it now!!! I HAVEN'T EVEN HEARD THE SONG YET. Oh damn, I'm failing so bad but I'll edit tomorrow when I get some time!! :D
P/S: Regarding Boys Over Flowers airing on KBS World (Starhub Cable TV) apparently it also airs on the free channel. I don't know what channel it is though, but it's a 3 digit number.KBS World (meaning the drama) airs on Channel 173 on Starhub. And Channel 172 is Arirang. Thanks to Cass.t for the clarification! :D I heard from my friend. Hahahaha. She dislikes Ji Hoo cos he looks to girly :( BUT I STILL LOVE YOU JI HOO/HYUN JOONG. YOUR HAIR IS FOREVER PERFECT IT MAKES ME SQUEAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL. :D
No, not the people, but the show. And only if you have cable TV. :)
Boys Over Flowers will air on KBS World (Starhub Channel 37) and mio TV (Channel 38) on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9pm (Singapore time). I don't know about mio TV, but I checked Starhub's TV schedule and Episode 3 will be airing on the coming Monday.
Korea is into the 2nd season (Right? Correct me if I'm wrong) so we're about 11 - 12 episodes behind. :)
I think KBS World will be airing it with English subtitles (!! Wheeeeee). If you do not have cable TV (like me hahahaha) you can watch it online on Youtube here, although they are subbed in Chinese. I watch it with Chinese subtitles because the videos are ultra ultra clear and while I'm not all that proficient in Chinese (meaning sometimes I pause the video to read the subtitles because the sentences are too long hahaha) I prefer HQ videos anytime!!!!!!! :D
Aaaahhhh back later I'm still at Ep 11 (though the last 2 parts now!!!) :D
11.2.09 : Lee Young-ae giving serious thoughts about "Dae Jang Geum 2"
Posted by B at 8:40 PM
HEY EVERYBODY, reallly sorry, haven't been posting lately! and this news, haha, somewhat related to KOREAN though... LEE YOUNG-AE!
Remember her? She starred in DA CHANG JIN (chinese) if you guys know it (I forgot what it was in English). It was a really big hit. (even my mother watched okay, and cry in front of the television screen, HAHA) Yup, maybe there's gonna be the sequel to it!
News!
Second series of popular Korean TV drama "Dae Jang Geum" may indeed be coming true. Recently, manager of Lee Young-ae, female lead of the drama, was involved in a case of swindle which cheated production companies of 200million Korean won (about S$220,000) in the name of "Dae Jang Geum 2". The manager subsequently showed up and denied his involvement; instead he claimed to be victim of the scam too. It was said then that there were plans for a sequel to drama. However, according to latest Korea reports, the production team is indeed discussing a sequel to "Dae Jang Geum".
According to Korea's Money Today Star news, Lee who has not acted for some time is seriously considering her return to the screen via the drama "Dae Jang Geum 2". Production company A TOP Media said they are currently in discussion with Lee to decide if they should do part two of the successful drama, or start on something fresh. Lee's manager also admitted to be currently discussing this production and a decision will be made soon.
The success of "Dae Jang Geum" six years ago brought special attention to its sequel, causing rumors to sprout and even bringing about the scam. Should Lee return to the screen with "Dae Jang Geum 2", it will definitely become the hottest topic in town again. [Credits to AsianFanatics]
If you guys still dunno what/who...
haha, know who already?! The LG woman! (used to be..) The 1st show's quite nice, but draggy after awhile though..
THIS IS A FANMADE VIDEO THAT HAS BEEN DONE VERY WELL.
I am amazed at the editing!! The whole story line is different from the original, but yet made with clips all from the drama! HOW COOL IS THAT.
It's supposed to be a "thriller" video. And woah, with all that sound effects, it is a real thriller! :D
{Video credits to HarueKorea @ Youtube}
The gist of it: I think Goo Jun Pyo and Jan Di are in love (but sweetly romantic together, not the up and down relationship they have in the drama). Jun Pyo's mother is probably the root of Yi Jung's doings. I think Yi Jung abducts Jan Di's younger brother (WHO MAKES ME FEEL LIKE SQUISHING HIM HAHA) and sends a ransom phone call to both of them.
Something like that?
Oh yes, Jan Di and Jun Pyo's relationship here (plus the background music and scenery) reminded me of Sky Of Love. I forgot the characters' names but it reminded me of that movie! :D
Yet, even if I might have interpreted it wrongly, the video is still edited very well. VERY NICE.
Hyun Joong mentions that he writes fanfics. Which is like "WHAT THE HECK??" because aren't fans the ones who write the fics. :D Hahahaha anyway he writes about how Jung Min is this fanatic fan over him? But he can't reciprocate the love from the fan or something. And he writes letters. Like love letters. Jung Min knows all about this anyway. :)
Anyway, muish, who subbed that episode of Sang Sang Plus, also translated the fics written by Hyun Joong! I'll link them here (they're kinda lengthy and there's something wrong with our layout right now haha). But you'll need a Soompi account to read it. If you're too lazy to sign up (I used to do that too, ignoring stuff linked on Soompi haha) let us know! I'll try to figure out a way to link the stuff on this page or something - and save loading time too.
BTW, I currently have Tae Goon's Call Me stuck in my head. He looks cute when he smiles but I still can't see his face. Hahahaha. His hair keeps covering his eyesssssssss. "Kol me kol me kol me~"

AND THE FEMALE LEAD: Leeteuk - Goo Hye Sun/Geum Jan Di
It's done really really well! It almost looks real. Hahahaha, if I didn't know better :D Gah I wished there were subs or something, though. I don't understand those characters that pop up.
Still! It's done so seamlessly well, and cut very nicely between Super Junior videos and the original drama video itself. WATCH IT WATCH IT!!
CLICK HERE TO WATCH STAGE OF YOUTH PREVIEW (HANGENG'S DRAMA) I can't wait to watch it because I want to see how he acts in it :D Plus there's dancing and stuff. Recently I've been on a roll with dance movies or anything that involves someone dancing... Looks neat!
They play High School Musical's song in it. I LOL-ed at that. Kinda weird, right? There's also "U" being played when it starts :D Argh I really miss Super Junior. MAKE A COMEBACK NOW. DIGITAL SINGLE/WHATEVER!!! When they actually do make a comeback I think I'd be studying my butt off. :(
IT IS 4:46 MINUTES LONG. That's really long. Watch watch! ♥ :D
Omg can't wait to see his acting now. Hahahaha. WOAH HE SITS ON A ROOF.
Lol, I don't know what Min Hwan's doing in the episode but he looked like he's trying to cook? See photos below.
Haha, I still remember how he (in real life) used to destroy Won Bin's fried rice by secretly adding a lot of tomato sauce when Won Bin's not looking. He's so cute and hilarious! Haha, I'm like flooding this post with Min Hwan's photos.
(Credits: blog naver/lee_brother@FTisland cool)
I quite like his apron, haha. :D
Lol, he seemed really amazed by the red pepper.
I LOVE YOU MIN HWAN!!!!!!!!!! :D
Haha, now I see Min Hwan's face everywhere! Comments are very much appreciated, thank you! :D
13.1.09 : Kang-in's new drama - MBC Haja Squad Zero
Posted by XYZ at 9:30 PM
{Sources: One, Two and main credits to damifino @ Soompi; Image credits: Bestiz, popcornfor2, E.L.F.love @ Soompi and as tagged}
Kang-in will be acting as one of the leads on MBC's cable channel MBC dramanet. The drama is called "하자 전담반 제로 (Haja Squad Zero)". Haja means "Let's do it" or "Go for it" when loosely translated, but we'll have to wait for the official website to see how the title is correctly translated.
Kang-in's character is supposed to be a naive and innocent boy who loves reading mangas. It will be a 16 episode drama, where he will play an employee of a wedding information company (??). The rights of the show has already been sold to Japan.
The drama will also star Lee Tae Sung, Lee Da In, Kim Hee Won (she was in Xanadu with Kang-in), and Jay from Trax. It will start airing on Saturdays at 11am starting February 14 on MBC dramanet.
HE IS SUCH A BUSY PERSON!!
He is always working or doing something. Band Of Brothers will end soon with the showcase but then there's still We Got Married and his DJ-ing. Plus the preparation of the 3rd album. The album is said to be released in March but it isn't confirmed yet. :( Possibility of a delay (crosses fingers!!!!).
We seem to blog a lot about him. Well, his name keeps appearing! HAHA. :D
I hope all of them take good care of their health!
More photos of Kang-in and the drama's photoshoot:
P/S: We Got Married will continue to air with Episode 41 on 18 January.
Min Hwan's new drama, The Road Home 집으로 가는 길 will be airing in a few days time, on 12 Jan 2008 on on KBS1 (replacing You Are My Destiny). It will debut on KBS World in Feb 2009.
Haha even though Min Hwan's playing a small role in the drama, but I'm sure he would be a very promising actor in the future. I saw somewhere in Soompi forum that he's acting as a rich man's son and his character is....kinda rebellious or something? Haha, what a change.
Director : Moon Bo Hyun 문보현 Scriptwriter : Lee Geum Rim Cast : Jo Yeo Jung, Lee Sang Woo, Park Hye Won, Jang Shin Young, Choi Min Hwan, Otani Ryohei (Japanese actor), Han Sang Jin (Yi San, White Tower), (Uhm Ki Joon & Yoon Sang Hyun dropped out), Shim Hyung Tak (Secret of Coocoo Island, Even So Love) Storyline : Family is the ultimate hope and the fortress that keeps us up. ‘The Road Home’ talks about families of nowadays; the disbanded family relationships of the current time. People often say ‘I am happy for my family’, but we no longer find much meaning from these words, as we did in the past. Even though many families are now separated into nuclear families, ‘family’ has its root in the large family structure. This drama is about a journey; the journey of a nuclear family changing back to a large family. While talking about families of these days, "The Road Home" also questions about the true meaning of happiness.
Here's a video for The Road Home press conference held 2 days ago, on 7 Jan 2008, followed by some pictures from the press conference. Seriously, that girl in the video is so fortunate to be acting with Min Hwan.
HAHAHAHA omg this is cool! When you watch HYD, you can hear SHINee hahaha. I was reading through some of the comments on Youtube and they were really excited! Haha, something along the lines of "I was watching this then I heard Onew's voice and huh, SHINee??? OMG SHINEE!" Yeah something like that.
Hahahaha, the song is most likely gonna be called Stand By Me, because that line is repeated a lot :D Or maybe it will be called something in Korean, then with the brackets (Stand By Me). HAHA! Well, they do that a lot.
I only hear Jong Hyun, Onew, and then Key. I wonder if this song has a rap for Min Ho. Or maybe he is singing!! But in the later part of the song or something. :)
Still, I'm glad SHINee is singing for something so major like this drama!
P/S: In cut 2, Hyun Joong (or rather, Rui, right?) is cleaning her shirt!
P/P/S: I seem to be spamming this blog with posts are something. Hahaha, well B and Cheeeken are currently away and I don't know where is Joy. I think klAss is working. Hahaha. I'VE GOT ABOUT ANOTHER 2 MORE (OR MAYBE EVEN MORE HAHA!) POSTS TO SPAM lol. :D
The first episode of Korea's version of Boys Before Flowers (Hana Yori Dango) aired yesterday.
From coolsmurf on wordpress
Boys Before Flowers certainly did not disappoint as it delighted KBS authorities with a strong showing of 14.3% for its opening episode last night.
KBS had been on the losing end in the Mon-Tue timeslot against competing dramas from SBS and MBC for almost 2 years now and it had been banking on Boys Before Flowers to reverse the situation. And it certainly did not disappoint as they finally succeeded on their 13th attempt, coming close to the opening episode rating of 14.6% set by Hello Miss on 19th March, 2007.
But what was the first impression after the first episode? "Although not close to the original, but it was passable" was the general remark given by those who were familar with the manga. Granted that most of the acting were quite stiff but its only the beginning so it should be better as we go along.
If you read the comments from coolsmurf's post here, many actually enjoyed it. :)
I found the first episode on Youtube. It is not subbed, of course. Thanks to lohas203 on Youtube for uploading.
I didn't watch Hana Yori Dango (the Japanese version) at all, so I don't know how the story goes. I watched Boys Over Flowers, the movie, on the plane and thought it was okay. I think the drama would be more exciting.
Hahahahaha actually - I just want to see Hyun Joong act. :D
Aloha people, I just got back from work and I so need to spazzzzzzzzzzz :D
P.S it's not my fault klAss doesn't respond to my spazz-ing. She hasn't even watched the show yet, plus Joy and XYZ are somewhere over the rainbow now, so communication's almost impossible.
Anyway, let's get back to the topic today. I've been watching Hong Gil Dong for quite a while. (Actually more like 5 hours) & I totally love the show! I know many of you have watched before, but hey, no harm recalling what you've watched right?
Hong Gil Dong
Plus I was attracted to the show because of Chang Hwi!
I was flipping through the channels one day and I chanced upon channel 173. Coincidentally, Chang Hwi appeared in that scene. & TADAAAAAAAA, I fell in love with Chang Hwi and the show.
Unfortunately, I have not finished watching it due to some unforeseen circumstances. (I need sleep) So, I don't know what's the ending yet, but I will know it soon all right.
So let me start spazzing!
Synopsis:
Based on a fictional book about a Robin Hood in Korea, Hong Gildong, this drama is very loosely based off of that book and the time it was set in.
Hong Gil Dong was the illegitimate son of a high ranked minister. A local monk took him under his wing and taught him martial arts. Hong Gil Dong was inspired to fight for the injustice in this society that divided people into nobles and ordinary citizens whereby the former enjoyed all the privileges due solely to their birth.
The heroine, Heo Yi Nok, had just returned to Korea from China with her grandfather. They made their living by putting on shows and selling their special brand of medicine in the marketplace.
Lee Chang Hwi had been told since he was young that he was the rightful heir to the throne which had been usurped by his half brother. He had also returned from his exile in China and was plotting to overthrow the emperor.
The three got entangled in love, hate, loyalty and betrayal and only one side can win.
Adapted from dramawiki.
So let me now introduce the main characters in the show.
Yinok\ Sung Yu Ri
She's really funny and I believe she brightens up the entire show's atmosphere with her laughable antics and her dimness towards important situations. She's forever eating, and I love the part where she was in the river trying to catch the chamber pot Chang Hwi gave to her. Super hilarious, I laughed till I had no breath left. Oh, and I believe she is the one who actually changed Gil Dong and Chang Hwi into better people :)
Kang Ji Hwan.
Hong Gil Dong.
A lazy person at the start, a punk in a sense. His fighting scenes are ridiculously retarded, which makes it more entertaining. & the sarcastic remarks that he always dishes out to Yinok makes the show more interesting. Their bickering are quite lame at times, lollll. I think Yinok fell in love with him in the later parts? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Ah hah, now to my favourite person in the show!
Jang Geun Suk.
Chang Hwi.
Oh come one, you've got to admit he's super cute right? It was love at first sight when I set my eyes on him for the first time. He's cold, aloof and hot :D
Chang Hwi is someone really numb and he has lost the sense of valuing human life, until he met Yinok, whom I assume changed his entire prospect of life. Seriously, I love his eyes and his voice is so low and sexy. Aw c'mon, you'll melt if you watch him in action. Plus he really suits the long hair, super yummy :D & dreamyyyyyyyyy. (sighs) Oh oh, his smile is just omg wuhgjrewahgjhrej! You'll melt into a great big puddle.
And I nearly bawled my eyes out when he got stabbed while trying to steal the sword. I mean who cries at 3 am eh?
All right! (Bangs head and snaps out of it)
Kim Ri Na.
Seo Eun Hye.
She's a real beauty, although she's a little weird. (In my opinion) She falls in love with Gil Dong because she thinks he's fun, lollll. I've yet to uncover what's her character's like because I still have a long way to watch. I'm anticipating on what is she going to be like in the later episodes.
Golly, I hope Chang Hwi ends up Yinok. Me like both of them very much, muahahahaha.
& I just realised that Jang Geun Suk's super young. He's only 21 years old! :D Perfect for me! (All right for all you young people out there)
Such a heartthrob.
He is starring in a modern movie\drama (?) called Baby and I. Ooooooo, I can't wait to get my hands on the discs.
Righty-o, I really like this show. I like comedies and romance mixed together, it's just exciting. So, I'll keep you all updated when I watch anymore Korean dramas :D
P.S comments will be appreciated. Please and thank you!
This looks pretty promising!! :D An added incentive to watch this drama would be Kim Bum, and of course I'm also looking forward to seeing Son Dambi and her acting :D

Haha, I still remember how he (in real life) used to destroy Won Bin's fried rice by secretly adding a lot of tomato sauce when Won Bin's not looking. He's so cute and hilarious! Haha, I'm like flooding this post with Min Hwan's photos.
